Ty Rupert Launches Community Town Hall Series Across Deschutes County
Deschutes County Sheriff Ty Rupert has launched a new series of community town hall meetings focused on transparency, accessibility, and direct engagement with residents across the county.
The first town hall meeting took place in La Pine and marked the beginning of a broader effort to connect with communities throughout Deschutes County. These meetings are intended to give residents an opportunity to hear directly from Sheriff Rupert, ask questions, and share concerns related to public safety, staffing, and the direction of the Sheriff’s Office.
According to reporting by KTVZ, the La Pine meeting was the first in a series of town halls that will rotate through multiple communities in the county.
Sheriff Rupert emphasized the importance of open communication and public involvement in effective law enforcement.
“These meetings are about listening. It is important that people understand what is happening inside their Sheriff’s Office and that they have a voice in how we move forward together.”
Focus on Community Engagement
The town hall meetings are designed to address topics such as public safety priorities, staffing challenges, accountability, and concerns that are specific to each community.
By hosting meetings throughout Deschutes County, Sheriff Rupert aims to ensure that residents in both rural and urban areas have access to leadership and information. This approach reflects a commitment to community focused policing and building trust through direct, face to face engagement.
