Ty Rupert has my endorsement for Sheriff of Deschutes County. I have known Ty since 2013. Over the last 12 years Ty has always shown me to be an individual with high integrity. He cares deeply about his family and his community. He is exactly what Deschutes County needs right now, and we as residents are fortunate to have someone like him willing to step up in such a leadership role.

I have lived and worked in Deschutes County for over 35 years, and during that time I have come to understand the kind of character and judgment it takes to truly serve this community. I have known Ty Rupert for more than 25 years, both personally and professionally, and I can say without hesitation that he is one of those rare individuals who consistently approaches situations with a clear mind and strong common sense.
What has always set Ty apart is his ability to remain calm, thoughtful, and grounded—especially under pressure. Those qualities are not common, and they cannot be taught overnight. I remember clearly when Ty finished his training to become a sheriff. He came to my office and spoke about how excited he was to begin that journey and to do his part to help people. That sincerity has stayed with him throughout his career.
I also remember Ty talking about one of his first difficult encounters with an intoxicated individual at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds. Rather than escalating the situation, he took the time to talk the man through his options and de-escalate the encounter through communication and sound judgment. In that moment, it was clear to me that Ty had found a career where his temperament and integrity could truly make the community a better and safer place.
Ty has always been a genuine person—steady, fair, and guided by a desire to do what is right. For these reasons, I fully and confidently support Ty Rupert for Deschutes County Sheriff.

I am an acute care social worker in Deschutes County. I work, very hard, alongside folks and values the current administration works against.
I do not vote on party lines, I vote for people who, to the best I can know, will put human decency above the profit of any monetary or political currency (…a difficult ask today).
I can say, with zero doubt, that Sheriff Rupert put people above profit this past year.
I personally witnessed Sheriff Rupert, on site, day after day, in support and direction of finding the victims from the Dillion Falls tragedy in July / Aug 2025
He did not defer the hard questions the families were asking and he made himself available in person and over the phone to the victims’ families.
I was in his office one day and saw two notes with phone numbers taped to his computer. It turned out these numbers were for the parents’ of unsolved cases.
I’ll say with zero reservation my vote is behind Sheriff Ty Rupert.
